Chapter 2: My Ice-Cold Wife
Chu Fan certainly wasn’t going to shove his way out like that.
He forced himself to endure the scorching heat, clenched his waist and abs tight, and lowered his head to breathe slowly. Only after that swollen, painful cock finally calmed down a little did he slowly stand up and straighten his uniform.
By the time he walked out of the office, he looked perfectly composed, as if that little burst of fire had never existed.
A few coworkers happened to run into him in the hallway and greeted him with easy smiles, as familiar as old friends.
“Off work, Chu Fan!”
“I’m jealous of you. You’ve got Lin Ci with you at work, and at home you’ve still got a gorgeous wife waiting for you!”
“Don’t be late tomorrow. Get back early, all right!”
Faced with those friendly yet unfamiliar faces, Chu Fan kept a smile on his lips and handled himself with ease, answering every exchange flawlessly. It was as if he had long since grown used to this identity, with not a hint of awkwardness.
But he didn’t go home. Instead, he went to the cafeteria alone.
Using the spare change in his pocket, he ordered a bowl of plain noodles and ate quietly.
After filling his stomach, he returned to the office building. When the coworkers saw that, they couldn’t help teasing him:
“Whoa, why are you still not going home? Did you and your wife have a fight?”
“Chu Fan, you really don’t know how lucky you are. If I had a wife as pretty as yours, I’d be dying to stick to her every single day.”
“Exactly. I’d be flying out of work faster than a rabbit.”
“You’re about to be made permanent. Don’t forget to look out for us brothers when the time comes!”
“Made permanent?” Chu Fan froze, his tone a little blank.
“What, you’re still putting on an act?” one of them laughed as he slapped Chu Fan on the shoulder. “Your father-in-law is the municipal Party secretary of Yunzhou City!”
“Yeah, and your wife is a leader in the criminal investigations brigade! If you want to be transferred to a district bureau and get yourself a little team leader post or something, wouldn’t that just be a single word from you?”
Only after hearing that string of teasing did Chu Fan finally finish fully accepting this identity.
So this reincarnation start of his was really something.
A municipal Party secretary for a father-in-law.
A criminal investigations chief for a wife.
What kind of starting point was that? It was practically a heaven-sent "script cheat"!
Though... being a live-in son-in-law did make it a little embarrassing.
When Chu Fan got back to the office, Lin Ci, that big-busted, narrow-waisted, slightly dumb but adorable woman, had already left.
He tossed the police cap onto the desk, sat down in the chair, and his mind started racing as he sorted out this body’s background.
Chu Fan, current job: traffic assistant, basically an auxiliary cop.
Thinking about that, he felt a little speechless.
In his previous life, at the very least, he had come up through criminal investigations. Chasing fugitives, making arrests, solving cases, hunting down killers - he had real grit and solid fundamentals. But now they had him standing on the road, pointing at traffic lights... that really wasn’t his thing.
What’s more, after just looking through the internet, he had vaguely picked up on something even more important.
The situation in Yunzhou City right now was unusual.
His father-in-law not only sat firmly in the Party secretary’s chair, but over the past few months had also doubled as mayor. He was truly one of the most powerful men in this little prefecture-level city.
And he, Chu Fan, that "live-in son-in-law" who had never even touched his wife, was standing at the edge of that power axis.
As his thoughts flew, the light outside the window gradually darkened, and in the blink of an eye it was eight o’clock at night.
The night was deep. The light at the entrance of the unit compound was a dim yellow, and a black Audi slowly pulled to a stop.
The driver’s door opened. A long, pale hand rested on the doorframe, and then a figure stepped down.
It was a woman dressed in an all-white, stripped-down look -
On top, she wore only a fitted white T-shirt. The pair of high, full breasts beneath it were tightly wrapped inside, their shape so full it looked as they might burst through the fabric at any moment. The lines of her chest were crisp, the flesh taut, the weight and fullness clearly outlined.
With every step the woman took, those twin peaks trembled up and down and swayed side to side, sending ripples of white across the view.
On the bottom, she wore high-waisted white slacks cut close to the body. The waistband cinched around a waist so slim it could be wrapped in one hand, while the legs hugged her thighs and enclosed her hips. Her round ass sat high and firm, and with every step she took, the seams of the pants drew a faint line between her butt cheeks.
Below that were a pair of straight, long jade-white legs, on her feet a clean, crisp pair of canvas shoes. Her thin ankles flexed slightly, bone and flesh interwoven, making it impossible not to look.
Her features were exquisite, her temperament cool and detached, her lips pale enough to add a touch of distance.
Chu Fan’s heart stirred, and as he looked at the woman, a thought suddenly surfaced in his mind:
Could this be... my wife?
He frowned and then felt that he might be overthinking it.
But the next second, reality shattered his hesitation.
The woman strode straight toward him on those long legs, her pace crisp and decisive. The white T-shirt clung to her chest, the high-waisted slacks wrapped her rounded hips, and every step radiated an almost oppressive presence.
Before she even came close, her brow had already tightened slightly. Her eyes locked straight on Chu Fan as she demanded, "What do you mean by this? You lost your phone? You got lectured by my dad this morning, and now you’re not coming home for dinner tonight?"
Her tone was cool and flat, with little emotion in it, but the suppressed anger was obvious.
It really was her?
Chu Fan had the feeling he was dreaming.
In his previous life he had been busy chasing criminals and solving cases. He was already old and still died a clean, straightforward virgin. Who could have imagined that after being reborn, the first spouse listed in his household register would be a woman at this level?
This face, these breasts, this waist, this ass, these legs... she was basically built exactly to his tastes!
He asked tentatively, "Wife... wife?"
“Let’s go home.”
The woman’s tone was calm, without the slightest excess emotion.
As soon as she finished speaking, she turned straight around and headed back to the black Audi. Her high ponytail swung once, and her back view was clean and sharp.
The white T-shirt clung tightly to her back, outlining a narrow waist, and those high-waisted slacks wrapped around her pair of round, full ass cheeks. With every step she took, the smooth lines of her body drew an elegant arc through the air. That tightness and elasticity made it impossible to look away.
Chu Fan stood there for two seconds, staring at that back as only one word flashed through his mind:
As expected, he really was a live-in son-in-law.
Grinding his teeth, Chu Fan broke into a run after her.
The car door closed, and the world seemed to fall quiet.
The cabin had the air conditioner on low. The space was sealed in, and the cool stream of air brushed his face, but it didn’t feel cold at all.
Chu Fan sat in the front passenger seat and glanced at her from the side. Forcing out a little smile, he tested the waters: "You got off work pretty late today..."
Song Zhiyao didn’t answer. She only pressed the gas and stared straight ahead, her expression as calm as a machine.
Chu Fan paused, then asked again, "Um... I really did lose my phone. I didn’t ignore your messages on purpose."
Still no reply.
Her eyes were lowered, her features cold and striking, beautiful enough to look carved out of stone, yet so chilly that strangers couldn’t get near her. She didn’t even let her gaze drift in his direction.
Chu Fan rubbed his nose and coughed once, finally shutting up.
All the way there, only the engine and the faint hum of the air conditioner filled the car. The silence was so heavy it made breathing feel difficult.
The car rolled forward in silence, left the main road, and turned into a quiet area on the southwest side of the city center.
Chu Fan looked up and couldn’t help feeling a jolt:
This was Yunzhou City’s most important government residential district - the municipal family compound.
Every part of the compound had its own designated number, and there were armed police guard booths posted everywhere. At the entrance stood a sign reading, "No civilian vehicles beyond this point," and through the opening and closing iron gate he could still see the sentry inside studying the car with solemn eyes.
The Audi passed through without a hitch, as if it had long since been registered there.
Chu Fan subconsciously sat a little straighter and glanced at Song Zhiyao beside him, just about to say something.
But Song Zhiyao was one step faster. She lifted the compartment lid between the seats, pulled out a black box from inside, and coldly shoved it into his hand.
“New phone.” Her tone was flat. She didn’t even give him a look as she said coldly, "From now on, call me on the phone. I don’t want to come pick you up like this again today!"
Chu Fan stared at the brand-new phone box in his hand and froze.
He was about to say thanks, but saw that she had already turned back, taken hold of the steering wheel again, and pressed her lips together, as if reminding him not to talk too much.
The car slowly drove down the side lane beside the main building. Ahead, a three-story building sat hidden among thick green trees, with blue bricks and dark tiles - clearly the layout of the special government housing from the last century.
The car came to a slow stop in front of a courtyard. The lights came on, and a figure slowly walked out from the villa’s entrance.
She wore a smoky purple silk dress, the hem trailing to the ground. Her steps were light, and the fabric brushed against her skin with each movement like rippling water. The pair of high, full breasts on her chest were lifted tightly, pressing out a deep, snow-white valley of cleavage that flickered in the light and seized the eye.
She had an extremely lush figure, yet she didn’t look bulky at all. Her waist was narrow enough to grasp in one hand, her hips round and high, and as she walked, the skirt lightly fluttered at the roots of her thighs, faintly revealing lines full of flesh and softness - rich without being greasy, soft without being limp.
A pair of fair, straight beautiful legs were half-hidden beneath the long dress. Her skin was fine and smooth, the lines long and slender. On her feet were thin-heeled stilettos that accentuated the delicate, graceful shape of her ankles, striking the ground with a crisp tap-tap that carried a teasing rhythm.
“A Fan.”
She lifted her eyes to Chu Fan, her voice gentle, the corners of her lips carrying just the right hint of a smile.
Chu Fan froze for a moment before finally taking in her appearance.
Her long hair was loosely pinned up, and a pair of pearl earrings hung from her earlobes, trembling faintly as she turned her head. Under the lights, they glowed with a warm, polished sheen.
She wore very light makeup. Her skin was fair and clean, her features soft. A few faint lines at the corners of her eyes didn’t stand out at all; instead, they added a touch of mature charm, making her whole face look gentle and alluring.
Her skin was tight, fine, and smooth, without the slightest trace of sagging. Her lips were soft and full; though the color was pale, they were moist and glossy.
This was his mother-in-law -
Shen Rulan, vice chair of the Yunzhou Women’s Federation.
