Chapter 4: This Is My Room
Wen Yalan nodded when she heard it. "I know."
"You know, and you still let him move in?"
Qin Jintong pointed at Xiao Yi, who was looking around nearby, her tone clearly edged with displeasure.
"What's wrong with him moving in?"
"The certificate's been signed, the tea's been served. Xiao Yi is now a son-in-law of the Qin family. If he doesn't live here, where else would he live?"
"Aren't there still guest rooms in the villa?"
"Guest rooms?"
Wen Yalan shot her an annoyed look. "And you still say that? Have you ever seen a newlywed couple sleep in separate rooms?"
Qin Jintong's breath caught at once. She tried to explain, "Mom, he and I really..."
"Enough."
Wen Yalan cut her off directly. "You don't need to explain. Your father and I aren't senile yet. We know what should be known and what shouldn't."
As she said that, she gave her daughter a meaningful look. "You were pretty bold when you were doing that before, weren't you? Now you're the one acting shy."
"Mom!"
Qin Jintong's pretty face changed slightly.
But Wen Yalan acted as if she hadn't noticed and kept going:
"Anyway, it's settled. Xiao Yi will live here from now on. If you really think it's inconvenient..."
She deliberately paused there.
The despair that had been building in Qin Jintong's eyes lit up a little, but the next second Wen Yalan added unhurriedly, "Then you'll just have to get used to it. You're twenty-six already. I'm still waiting to hold my grandson."
The moment she said that, Qin Jintong instantly flared up. "Mom, what kind of mother says that?"
"What's wrong with me?" Wen Yalan shot back with complete righteousness. "Your Aunt Lin, who's younger than me, already had a grandchild two years ago. Every time we meet, she has to walk around in front of me holding that child, as if she's afraid nobody knows she has a grandchild. What's wrong with me wanting to hold my own grandchild?"
Beside her, Qin Ruowei finally couldn't hold back her laughter. Arms crossed, her long legs wrapped in black stockings crossed lightly, she teased with a smile, "Mom, are you jealous of Aunt Lin or the child?"
"Both, of course."
Wen Yalan answered without the slightest hesitation. Then she shifted her gaze to Xiao Yi, her expression softening considerably. "Xiao Yi, just stay here at ease. If anyone has any opinions, tell them to come to me."
After saying that, she even deliberately glanced at Qin Jintong. Who exactly the "someone else" was, was obvious without saying.
"Mom, aren't you being too biased?"
Qin Jintong was furious.
Wen Yalan smiled at her. "Xiao Yi has only just come through the door. What's wrong with me being a little biased as his mother? It's not like we should let people think the Qin family is bullying him."
Qin Jintong pressed her red lips together and said nothing.
Obviously, she didn't agree with that line of reasoning, and she also knew that anything she said now would be pointless.
Xiao Yi, on the other hand, couldn't help the corners of his mouth lifting a little when he heard that. It seemed his mother-in-law was even more on his side than he'd expected.
Only then did Wen Yalan look back at Xiao Yi. Her mature, glamorous face carried a gentle smile. "Xiao Yi, is there anywhere else you're not satisfied with? If there is, just tell Mom and I'll have someone change it for you."
Xiao Yi shook his head with a smile. "No need, Mom. I think it's already very good. As long as I'm with Jintong, it doesn't matter where I stay."
"That's good."
The smile on Wen Yalan's face immediately deepened. The more she looked at this son-in-law, the more she liked him, and then she turned to glare at her daughter.
"Look at Xiao Yi. He's so attentive to you, and you're still putting on that unwilling face. You really don't know how lucky you are."
Qin Jintong said nothing. She turned her face away, leaving everyone with only her cold, stunning profile.
"And over here!"
Saying that, Wen Yalan led Xiao Yi to the walk-in closet beside them. "These were all prepared by your sister and me. Take a look and see if you like them."
Xiao Yi glanced over them and smiled. "I like them. I like all of them. Thanks, Mom."
After that, his gaze drifted, almost imperceptibly, to the custom-made gown hanging in the wardrobe, and in an instant an image surfaced in his mind of Qin Jintong's tall, curvy figure wrapped in that dress, pinned beneath him while he rammed his cock into her.
Wen Yalan naturally had no idea what Xiao Yi was thinking. Still smiling, she said, "Try them on later. If anything doesn't fit, we'll go out and buy more this afternoon."
"Okay."
Xiao Yi nodded, then looked at Qin Ruowei beside him.
"Thanks, sis."
Qin Ruowei smiled faintly and shook her head. "We're family. No need to be polite."
Actually, Wen Yalan had originally planned to have Qin Jintong go shopping for these things with Xiao Yi, but when she thought about her daughter's temperament, she ended up preparing them with Qin Ruowei instead.
"Xiao Yi, get familiar with the room first."
Wen Yalan checked the time and said, "Mom will go downstairs and see how the lunch dishes are coming along."
In truth, she was only using that as an excuse to give the young couple some time alone. After all, today was the first official visit from her son-in-law. How could she possibly not have already arranged lunch properly?
"Okay."
Xiao Yi answered with a smile.
"Xiao Yi, then I'll head down first too."
Qin Ruowei smiled at him, then stepped out the door on her high heels, her long legs wrapped in black stockings moving with each step, the rounded curve of her ass swaying gently under the fitted office skirt, giving off a distinctly career-woman charm.
The door shut, and in the vast room there were only Qin Jintong and Xiao Yi left.
Qin Jintong watched Xiao Yi standing there, still looking around and occasionally letting his eyes fall on the walk-in closet. Her anger surged even higher. She took a deep breath and was just about to speak when her phone suddenly rang.
A graceful piano melody echoed through the room. It was the ringtone she had specially set for Lu Chengyu.
Qin Jintong's icy pretty face instantly thawed. She suppressed the thought of talking to Xiao Yi, then walked over in her high heels to the floor-to-ceiling window and answered the call.
"Hello, Chengyu."
Her voice was softer than anyone had ever heard it before, a tone Xiao Yi had never heard from her.
Xiao Yi's brows rose slightly. He didn't need to think to know who was on the other end. It looked like Qin Jintong had really not dressed up so carefully today for her newlywed husband. The so-called something she had to do this afternoon was probably to meet Lu Chengyu.
Still, he didn't take it to heart. He simply sat down on the bed, leaned back, fished a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and clenched it between his teeth.
Thin wisps of smoke slowly rose.
As Xiao Yi smoked and half-lidded his eyes, the silhouette standing by the window became even more alluring in the sunlight: a slender waist, full hips, and long, jade-like legs. She was a prime specimen.
